This striking mariner link chain is such a rare find! The chain is Egyptian, with each solid gold link struck with the Cairo hallmark for 18-carat gold and dates to between 1916-1930.
Exceptionally well matched with an oversized statement bolt ring and swivel dog clip that finish the piece wonderfully; both are British-made and date to slightly earlier than the chain, Victorian-era circa 1900, stamped '18' and with a crown mark on the dog clip.
A buttery and vibrant yellow 18ct gold colour, this antique piece can easily be layered with modern and antique gold.
The chubby anchor/mariner links are solid (not hollow) and measure 10mm long by 7mm wide, giving you an overall chunky look.
